Dr. Jian Yan is a postdoc fellow working in Prof. Bing Ren's laboratory at Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, San Diego, USA. He received his B.S. from Tsinghua University, China and M.S. from University of Helsinki, Finland. In 2014, he obtained his Ph.D. degree at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, studying transcription factor binding specificities and their roles in transcriptional regulation. Working in Ren lab since 2015, he has mainly focused on unraveling the role of genetic and epigenetic factors in transcriptional regulation and in complex diseases. Dr. Yan has received several academic prizes and research grants including the Award for Outstanding Students Abroad from the Chinese Government and a Long-term Postdoc Fellowship from the International Human Frontier Science Program Organization as well as an International Postdoc Fellowship from the Swedish Research Council.
