Owen Marshall
Menzies Institute for Medical Research, TAS, Australia
- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
Dr Owen Marshall undertook his PhD and first postdoc in Prof. Andy Choo’s group at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, working on the structure of centromeric chromatin and how it changes during cancer progression. Owen moved to the UK in 2012 for further postdoctoral work in Prof. Andrea Brand’s group at the University of Cambridge, where he helped develop the Targeted DamID cell-type-specific profiling system and applied this to understanding the epigenetics of neural development. He returned to Australia in 2016 to lead a research group at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research in Hobart, Tasmania, studying the role of epigenetics and transcription factors in brain development and disease.
