After graduating with a Master in Biological Sciences at the Technical University of Munich I perused a PhD focused on directed neuronal differentiation of pluripotent cells. In 2011 I started my postdoctoral studies in the Lab of A. Prof. Jose Polo (Monash, Clayton, Victoria). I am currently working on dissecting the nuclear reprogramming process of a variety of somatic cell types (mouse/human) into induced pluripotent stem cells. Furthermore I am investigating transcriptional, epigenetic and functional changes that occurring during somatic stem cell aging on a population and on a single cells level (intestinal/hematopietic stem cells).
Interests: Pluripotency, Reprogramming, Epigenetics, Stem cell aging.
