- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
Prof Tim Cole (BScHons, PhD) is a teaching and research academic at Monash University, Deputy Head in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, and Head of the Molecular Endocrinology Laboratory at the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute. He is internationally recognised for his research on the actions of adrenal corticosteroid steroid hormones, both endogenous and synthetic (such as dexamethasone) and their intracellular receptors, and particularly their specific roles in the respiratory, renal and immune systems in vivo. He has extensive experience in techniques of molecular and cellular biology, and the use of gene-targeted and CRISPR/Cas9-derived mouse models for the study of cell signalling networks, and their abnormalities in disease states. He has used tissue-specific gene-targeted ablation mouse models of the glucocorticoid steroid hormone receptors to define tissue and organ-specific functions of glucocorticoid (GR) and mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) signalling in vivo. He is a Past-President of the Endocrine Society of Australia, a member of The Endocrine Society (USA) and British Endocrine Society (UK) and holds positions on the Education Board of the International Society of Endocrinology.
